From mid August until mid September of 2020, the CZU Fire destroyed nine hundred and twenty-five family homes in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our home in Ben Lomond was spared but the destruction all around us was overwhelming.
The homes of many of our friends and neighbors were lost in the fire. The scope and extent of devastation was hard to comprehend. Even our youngest son was a victim of the fire. We decided that we had to do something.
Our company, BAM Homes (Bay Area Manufactured Homes) based in Antioch, has been in the manufactured home business for over twenty years. We specialize in building and placing large, custom, high-end manufactured homes on privately owned residential parcels in hills of Silicone Valley and the East Bay.
After the CZU Fire we shifted our focus away from building custom homes for our Bay Area customers. Instead we choose to concentrate our energy on helping the people in our area rebuild their homes that they lost.
To help with the rebuilding efforts the County of Santa Cruz established the RPC (Recovery Permit Center). The specialized staff of the RPC are focused solely on helping homeowners with recovery permitting. Efficient teams assist fire victims with the many technical issues involved in the permitting process.
Our committment at BAM Homes is to help guide every customer through all the necessary steps that are required in order to submit a completed home building application package to the County.
