Up until a few years ago, what we now call an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) would have been called a guest cottage, a granny flat, a back-yard bungalow, an in-law unit or a pool house.
On January 1, 2020, several ground breaking ADU laws went into effect across California. These laws were written to encourage California homeowners to an ADU to their homesite.
The 2020-2021 California State Budget has made provisions for $100 million from the California State Federal funds to be used for ADU financing. These funds to help finance ADUs for low to moderate income property owners.
Bay Area Manufactured Homes ~ BAM Homes, has been placing ADUs on homeowners properties in Northern California for over twenty years.
Our customers have used their ADUs in a variety of ways such as:
Every BAM Homes ADU is built in Lindsay, California at the Redman Homes factory. Redman Homes, founded in 1937, is the first manufactured home builder in California. The ideas and methods developed by Redman Homes pioneered factory built home construction.
Every one of our homes are built with great care, years of experience and precision construction. Every one of our homes is built to meet and exceed all HUD and California Unified Building Code standards and requirements.
After passing all of the rigorous quality control inspections, every one of our homes carries a seven year factory warranty.
When access to our customers' site is blocked by existing structures or walls, we "fly" the home into place using a crane. Here's a video of placing a "Decker" ADU in an inaccessible back yard.
